Although outplacement is never seen as an easy process instigating fear and insecurity, like anything in this life there is always the bright side.
In my experience as a Career Transition Consultant and previously as Talent Acquisition and Headhunter I’ve come across most people looking for a new job on their own initiative whether they’ve had enough of the boss, feel underpaid, feel threatened in their current company and position or simply hate their work and the politics around it.
In the outplacement process in which the company has to downsize or let go of the employees for whatever reason, the employees are assisted throughout the whole process from getting prepared and assisted through a full cycle up to landing a new job. This includes analysis, coaching, identifying transferrable and hidden skills and potential career paths, assessing career opportunities, assessing self-branding skills, interview skills, networking capabilities, resume, supporting them throughout the whole implementation process on their job search.
The opportunity in this process is that the employees are being assisted by a professional and dedicated consultant who will be able not only to provide a good strategy and lead all the way for them to obtain a new job but also to help them realize true hidden skills and desires that were never realized before.
Perhaps they were living in a “maze” in their profession inside of a comfort zone that never meant true purpose and happiness and with the help of an outplacement process with a deep analysis and understanding of what their true passion and skills are they will be able for the first time to flourish their true purpose and vocation.
This article is to express my true respect to these companies that choose to outplace their employees and provide this support other than simply let them go.
If you are interested in this type of service whether you are a company outplacing or a professional looking for a new job or career move I will be delighted to assist you.
